Rural communities face unique challenges in communicating about overdose prevention. It can be difficult to tailor messages to specific audiences when, in many rural communities, one person or group may play many roles, or to identify and train trusted messengers who can provide a local perspective.
Tune in on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 11:30am-12:30pm PT, to explore overdose prevention communications strategies for rural stakeholders. PHI’s Berkeley Media Studies Group will share messaging recommendations that draw on findings from their recent news analysis, as well as learnings about how to frame overdose prevention in rural contexts nationwide. This web forum is sponsored by PHI’s National Overdose Prevention Network and produced by PHI’s Dialogue4Health.
