Mirroring trauma, persistent and pervasive loneliness can have a large negative effect on a person’s health, functionality, and overall well-being. Please join consultant, Dr. Laura Leone, in exploring chronic loneliness, its factors, and how it differs from social isolation and social inaction. The impact and long-term effects that chronic loneliness can have on the mind and body will be discussed, drawing similarities to our understanding of the trauma response. The presentation will conclude with specific and targeted emotional, physical, and social approaches and solutions to oppose chronic loneliness and improve meaningful connections.
