Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Instructor Training
June 22-24, 2021
FREE Training Opportunity offered through UNH Extension.
YMHFA, a National Council for Behavioral Health program, teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to young people showing since of a mental health challenge and connect them to support in their community. It is designed for parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, and other caring adults that interact with adolescents (12-18) that at some time may experience a mental health challenge. As a YMHFA Instructor you will train others in your community how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in youth. This training will give adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents who may be developing a mental health or substance use disorder and help connect them to the appropriate care.
