Youth Vaping and Nicotine 101: Two-Part Series

Please join us for a two-part virtual learning series on vaping and nicotine use among youth. This training will cover what vapes and nicotine pouches are, the most common devices youth are using, current trends driving the popularity of these products, and the developmental risks associated with nicotine. Participants will also learn about local and national resources, evidence-based prevention strategies, and practical ways to support youth through education, open communication, and early intervention.
Dates: March 10 & March 24, 2026
Time: 12:00–1:00 PM (Virtual via Zoom)
Continuing Education: 2.0 contact hours (1.0 per session). Continuing education credits are available for multiple disciplines through the Southern New Hampshire Area Health Education Center, including nursing, physicians, CHWs, prevention specialists, and other professionals.

March 10 – Session 1: Vaping and Nicotine 101: The Ins and Outs of the E-cigarette and Nicotine Epidemic
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the components of vapes and other nicotine products
- Identify the most common devices and products youth use
- Review the current trends around youth use in New Hampshire
March 24 – Session 2: Risks, Realities, and Support: Mental and Physical Harms of Nicotine Products and Strategies for Youth Prevention and Cessation
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe youth perceptions of risk related to vape and nicotine product use
- Discuss how vapes and other nicotine products can negatively impact youth development
- Review free campaigns, educational materials, and other resources for youth vape and nicotine prevention, harm reduction, and cessation
