PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Want to learn more about mental health? Perhaps self-care has been an area of focus lately, and you’re not fully sure exactly what that means or how it fits into mental health. What about mental illness, how is that different than mental health? In recent years, the topic of mental health has not only become more mainstream but has also worked its way into our daily conversations, leaving many of us searching for more information from potentially unreputable resources. We invite teens and adults to join us to discuss these topics in a safe and guided environment, providing a unique opportunity to share both teen and adult/caregiver perspectives on how to be mutually supportive.
This FREE virtual four-week series will follow lessons from the Your Thoughts Matter: Navigating Mental Health curriculum. Topics covered will be areas such as the definition of mental health, its reach and impact, as well as more specific topics such as anxiety and depression. Using games, interactive media, and small group discussion, participants will follow along using their Your Thoughts Matter workbook, where they’ll learn and track their own thoughts and experiences throughout the series. The curriculum is specifically tailored to guide discussions for anyone interested in learning the importance of overall self-care as it pertains to mental health, as well as steps they can take within their various communities to promote both awareness and action!
