Date: July 12 and 14 (2-Day Training)
Time: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
Location: The Upper Room, 36 Tsienneto Road, Derry, NH
This facilitator training will demonstrate to trainees how to run an anger management program by teaching:
• how to implement an adolescent program focused on improved communication strategies
• how to manage highly emotional situations
• reduce the effects of anger by guiding youth through the program’s 12-hour process to develop skills, and teach trainees how to offer solutions and ideas to manage youth emotions.
Join Facilitators Elaina Wheaton and Michelle Brauch – two of the creators of the Take Control Program – an evidence-based curriculum in the state of NH, in meeting the social and emotional needs of youth in managing anger. Trainees will participate in the entire Take Control Curriculum, understand the science behind the learning objectives, and learn how to use the program to assist youth in their community.
Participants must attend both days and commit to technical assistance while the program is being implemented, to assure fidelity. At the completion of the training all participants will have facilitated portions of the group and will receive Technical Assistance to run their own groups for up to one year. Curriculum will be available for purchase.
This program is made possible through: NH Governor’s Commission on Alcohol and other Drugs
