APPLICATION DEADLINE! Mentee Application 2023 New England PTTC Prevention Professional Mentoring Program

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The New England PTTC is hosting its third year of the prevention mentoring program, starting in January 2023. This nine-month mentoring program will provide newer prevention professionals with the opportunity to receive guidance on their professional development, driven by the mentees’ career and professional goals, from an experienced Substance Use/Misuse Prevention Specialist. Over the course of the program, mentees will be provided with trainings, tools, and resources to strengthen and foster their mentoring process.The ultimate goal of the program is to increase prevention workforce retention and the quality of a prevention workforce that is educated, qualified, culturally competent, diverse, and growing. Each mentee will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the associated tasks within each of the IC&RC Prevention Performance Domains. For those mentees not yet certified, at the end of the program year each mentee should feel confident applying for the IC&RC Prevention Specialist Credential and sitting for the IC&RC Certified Prevention Specialist examination.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
1.) Participants must live and work in the following New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Two mentees per state will be selected as part of our mentoring cohort.

2.) Participants must be able to commit to the following training dates IN BOLD from 10:00am – 12:00pm ET:

• 1/12/23 Mentors Training
• 1/19/23 Mentees Training
• 2/9/23 Cohort – Kickoff
• 3/9/23 Mentees- IC&RC Prevention Performance Domains 1 & 2
• 4/13/23 Mentors Training
• 5/11/23 Cohort Training
• 6/15/23 Mentees Training – IC&RC Prevention Performance Domains 3 & 4
• 7/13/23 Mentors Training
• 8/10/23 Cohort Training
• 9/14/23 Mentees Training – IC&RC Prevention Performance Domains 5 & 6 
• 9/21/23 Culmination

 

3.) Participants must meet with their mentors AT LEAST once per month during the program duration.

4.) Participants must complete all evaluation components of the program, to include but not limited to, pre- and post- assessments and monthly mentor/mentee meeting feedback forms.
