March 2026 Partnership Convening: Beyond the Lecture – Building Trust to Guide Youth Conversations About Cannabis

Join us for a special, three-hour workshop to equip partners with the latest New Hampshire policy updates, neuroscience and communication strategies to effectively address youth cannabis use.
For young people, cannabis (THC) use can profoundly worsen mental health, contributing to a range of issues like poor sleep and concentration, anxiety, and even a risk for developing serious conditions such as personality disorders and psychosis. And with the presence of THC products and marketing growing in our cities, towns, and media, youth perceptions about the harms can be surprisingly low.
10:00am – Welcome
10:15am – Kate Frey, Vice President of Advocacy at New Futures will provide an update of proposed cannabis legislation this session in NH.
10:30am – Dr. Amy Turncliff, Neuroscientist and Public Health Advocate, will share the newest research on THC’s impact on adolescent development.
11:45am – Lisa Stockwell, M.Ed., of It’s Your Journey! LLC, will provide hands-on techniques to shift the conversation from confrontation to that of curiosity to engage youth about their behavior and reasons for using cannabis.
12:45pm – Partner Updates
1:00pm – Conclusion
The Partnership will hold convenings with partners every other month to discuss upcoming activities and prevention initiatives. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from other prevention professionals and gain tools to make a difference in your community.
