From Risk to Resilience: Reframing Our Response to Youth Who Use Substances

The technology-enabled collaborative learning program (TCLP) aims to support health providers using the latest advances in medical and information technology, to improve service provision and retention of healthcare workers. Among the top concerns of the providers we sampled was the crisis of mental health and substance use among our nation’s youth, and the gap in services that support their well-being.

Series of four virtual sessions on Zoom, Thursdays 3-4PM (biweekly from August 14 – September 25, 2025) presented by Dartmouth Health and MCD Global Health

  1. August 14: Youth Who Use Substances – Lisa Lavoie, PhD, MAIS, LCPC, CRC
  2. August 28: From Risk to Resilience – Brady Heward, MD
  3. September 11: From Punishment to Positive Reinforcement – Gabe O Brien, Megan Detweiler, BSN, RN, CARN
  4. September 25: From Talking to Listening – Kate Chichester, APRN

Open to healthcare providers, behavioral health professionals, school personnel, and all others who are looking to join the conversation on youth who use substances. Priority given to Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
