With more than 40 million people using commercial tobacco products in the United States, tobacco remains the number one preventable cause of disease, disability, and death. People with mental health and/or substance use (MH/SU) challenges consume up to 40% of tobacco products and experience tobacco-related disparities, making them a priority population to consider when strategizing the tobacco endgame.

Join the National Behavioral Health Network for Tobacco and Cancer Control at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing on March 7, 2-3 p.m. ET to increase your understanding of tobacco endgame and its importance in ensuring optimal health outcomes for people with MH/SU challenges.

By joining this webinar, you will:

  • Define the “tobacco endgame.”
  • Compare endgame strategies nationally and internationally.
  • Identify complementary strategies that can be used in the behavioral health setting.
  • Understand the need for increased treatment and recovery capacity to support endgame strategies.

The webinar will feature the following speakers:

  • Chad Morris, Ph.D., Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program, University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus
  • Jim Pavlik, MA, CTTS, Senior Program and Policy Analyst of the Behavioral Health and Wellness Program, University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus
