Although we have seen gains in the equity of treatment for alcohol use disorder, racial disparities across the continuum of opioid use disorder treatment still widely exist. Black Americans in particular, suffer a disproportionate burden of health and social consequences despite having a lower or equivalent prevalence of substance use.

But why do these disparities still persist, and how can we use recovery science to dismantle racial health inequities? Join the members-only Substance Use Interest Group on March 10th at 1 pm ET as we dive into racial literacy, course of illness and recovery, and actionable strategies for a recovery transformation welcoming expert Dr. Corrie Vilsaint of the Recovery Research Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
